Yeongildae Beach parking — lots, fees and tips

Yeongildae Beach has public parking right by the sand, but it fills early on summer weekends and festival days. This page covers the main lots, what to expect to pay and how to avoid the seafront traffic.

Main public lots

The closest public lot is a 1–3 minute walk from the sand. There are additional public and roadside spaces a little further out (roughly 300–600 m), with fewer spaces. On holidays these fill and stay full for most of the day.

  • Arrive before late morning in peak season to get a space.
  • If full, park further out and walk in along the seafront.

Fees and payment

Public beach parking is typically charged by the hour or as a flat daily rate; exact prices and machine types change, so check the posted sign on site. Have a card or cash ready, as smaller lots may not take every payment method.

  • Rates and limits can change — follow on-site signage.
  • EV chargers are common at seaside public lots and Hwanho Park.

Avoiding the jam

Beach roads get heavily congested on holidays and peak summer weekends, and during the fireworks festival the Buk-gu approach backs up. Consider a taxi, city bus or arriving very early, and never block bus or fire lanes.

  • Festival days: expect the Buk-gu exit to be slow.
  • Public transport is strongly recommended at peak times.
